ive searched this on both google and my350z and havent found it yet. im sure its out there and im just searching for the wrong thing or something, but what is the difference between the new 350z motors and the old 350z motors that allows them to make more power?

You didn't search enough... here's a start

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VQ_engine

The VQ35HR update was first seen in the US in 2005 G35 6MT models. By 2007, all G35 models had the updated engine. Nissan updated the VQ line with the addition of the 3.5 L VQ35HR (for "High Revolution" or "High Response"). It produces 315 PS (311 hp/232 kW) (US Market: 306 PS (302 hp/225 kW) due to new US federal measurement regulations) at 6,800 rpm and 37 kg·m (363 N·m; 268 ft·lbf) at 4,800 rpm, using a compression ratio of 10.6:1. It has NDIS (Nissan Direct Ignition System) and CVTC with hydraulic actuation on the intake cam and electromagnetic on the exhaust cam. Redline is 7,500 rpm. The intake is a high-flow tuned induction system. This engine is known to experience oil consumption issues, according to Infiniti's ITB08-002 document, titled "2005-2007 Engine Oil Level is Low," which was released in 2008.

No problem. Ohhh and the HR's have dual intakes which is a quick and easy way to distinguish the 2.
