VDC Controller??
NISSAN Motorsports has developed a black box in conjunction with Whiteline that allows full control of the VDC system equipped on the Z33!
"The Whiteline 350Z black box is a piggy-back control unit that allows full control of how the VDC system intervenes. The system has 5 presets or the user can customize one or all of them to their desired settings. The user can add or subtract control to the front or rear wheels indepently as well as how much VDC is active (from OEM to zero). Instructions and all wiring included. Perfect for the track day enthusiast!

We just installed the Black Box in our G35 for some quick testing. It's easy to install, it works, and you definitely know that it's there. We just made a few quick runs with it in the parking lot here at Z1 to get a feel for it. We'll be leaving it in the G for a few days to get more feedback on it and then will be installing it in a 350Z for some track testing in early Febuary. The driver I have lined up to track test it for us is very experienced and tracks his car over 20 times a year and can give us great feedback on it.

So correct me if im wrong but even when you press the "VDC Off" button, the VDC is never truly 100% off, right? I've never taken the time to research the subject, but one of the techs I work with who is the GTR tech mentioned this once, but I had never heard of this previously.
That would be why this device would be useful yea?

when my traction assist is off the 350 lets loose 100% loose... why would I waste my hard earned money on this product when I can just turn off the traction at the flick of a switch... hasnt sold me

With VDC off I can do donuts all day, so I can confirm it's OFF when I tell it to be off, unless I'm gassing and braking at the same time which isn't something you'd want to do anyways unless you're doing a burnout.
So is this neccesary if you want VDC "partially" on? Why do I need it?

Even with the off button depressed, the yaw sensor still is part of the equation and that is exactly what this controller is manipulating. Get the car out on a track, and you'll quickly find that it tries to engage constantly, even with the button in the off position. The software is pretty well sorted out in a stock car under normal driving conditions, but get some grippy tires on the thing and put the car on a track, and it totally freaks out. This is where such a controller will shine. In addition, I've found the VDC to be at the most intrusive when running a square tire setup, again, at a track day - it no likey one bit
