Default Castrol Edge?

I was wondering if anyone has tried this new stuff yet (Castrol Edge). Apparently it is "8x" the protection of mobile 1. Hopefully someone can get a Blackstone analysis of this.

^^

How is that? I think a lab report should be executed and then we should all wait and see what Resolute has to say.

Castrol Edge is showing good sign in tests from Bob Is the Oil guy. But it is still too soon to tell. I also have it in my Z now trying it out and plan to do a UOA of it when it's time.

only have it in 5w30 and 10w30........guess I won't be trying it. I prefer the thicker oils for more protection.

that and I can't imagine it giving better protection than the Rotella T-Syn (which cost $3 less per quart.)

Their ads are great, though. "think with your dipstick!"

I have had excellent blackstone oil analyses when I switched to Rotella T-Syn 5W40. that is the synthetic rotella oil. It only costs $19.99 per GALLON (at autozone) and has excellent protection. this oil is high in ZDDP which is very imortant in a flat tappet (cam on bucket) engine. you can see my UOAs in the oil analysis thread. I have tried other oils, but his stuff is awesome!
