Default Borla True Duel Install Cost

What have you paid local muffler shops for the Borla True Duel exhaust install? Z Mag said it was a difficult install.

BS, if they said it was a difficult install, then they must have total idiots doing the install. If you've got access to a lift, you can get the install done in less than 30 minutes. The hardest part is getting the old exhaust off.

if you do decide to go to a shop for the install, you shouldnt pay over $100.

I think they just meant it was harder than the others because it had many more pieces.

I did an install yesterday on 2 ramps.

You can access the front bolts by going in from the sides.

It was EAZY!!!

I installed mine in about 2 hours with just two jack stands under the rear wheels. I took my time (with a good share of beer breaks) so it could be done quicker.

The install is easy. I have the SportZ Magazine and read the article. The only thing that I can see as to why they would say it was a difficult install is because of the number of pieces. In my opinion the number of pieces actually makes the install easier. Working with shorter sections is a lot easier to maneuver them into place without a lift.

Definitely a do it yourself project for anyone with basic skills.

It was harder taking it off(stock) than putting it on (Borla).

Any competant body shop should be able to do it in an hour. I took it to a local shop and it cost me roughly $80 including sales tax (they were $72/hour).

And yes, I read the article, also, to mean that the Borla was more difficult and time consuming versus the other 350Z exhausts that had less pieces. They didn't say it was hard, they just said it was harder than the others in the test.

Keep in mind, however, that the headers (any headers) are enourmously difficult to change and will take roughly six hours. If you decide to do headers, those WILL be expensive to install. :-)

This isn't true of the muffler, though.

Had mine done a my Dealer during scheduled service. Added an hour to the bill ($65). I helped with some muscle, but from "old" off to "new" on it was 18 minutes. Test driving to check for leaks in 20.

I just got back from a full day at the track (circuit not drag), and all I can say is DAMN my car sounded so freakin sweet. Under WOT it was just amazingly "muscular" sounding. Not like the deep grumble of the vettes that were there. More like a European sports car -- very aggressive but a little higher pitched.

My instructor even commented on it. It was worth every penny just to listen to it all day at the track. :-)
