Default idling runs at 2000 rpm when started then decreases slowly, is that normal??

I just picked up a brand new manual 08 350Z. When I start my car, after its sits for awhile, my rpm's go up to around 2000. Then it slowly drops a bit at a time, down to about 1000 rpm about a minute later.

My question is it normal?? Thanks.

thanks for the 1st post as assurance, David.

I should have stated that i also have an 04 350Z and that does not even idle that high one bit. I'm not that stupid, I know that on any car, your rpm's run higher than normal when started, but again, it just seems like it's on the high side.
