Default doesnt a misfire throw a code?

So started my car this morning after it was running just fine yesterday, and it's def not running on all cylinders... so i'm gonna replace the spark plugs since i just got em in anyway, and then if that doesnt work, the coil packs.. but the problem is, it's not throwing a code. no light what so ever...

could it be my injectors? i have the greddy 440s in it with the vortech set up..

the symptoms: bogging sound at acceleration, rough (shaky at idle), and def huge loss of power, i know what it sounds like when a car doesnt run on all cylinders, that's def what it's doing, does anyone have any ideas?

Usually throws a P0300 for random, multiple misfires. A while back my maf sensor had gotten dirty and caused this code. The first day or so it didn't pop up on the dash, but when I fired up cipher it was there. Can also throw P0301-06 for an individual cylinder. Hope that helps.

i dunno what to do since i have no codes popping up. should i leave it running for a bit or so? it's def not running on all cylinders.

if one of my injectors went bad, would it cause these symptoms?and would it throw a code?

Possibly, but I would lean towards a faulty coil pack (fairly common) or the maf being grimed up.

Did you change anything prior to the misfire?

Ask mod to move this thread to fi section, since u running vortech.

Sorry missed ur post and couldn't help u when u stuck in road. What injectors u running? If you need code reader let me know I can let you borrow mine.

Edit: check ur utec if you can and ecu.
I remember now... when I missed plug in one coil, my car was acting going to blow. And also drove about few miles, didn't get the cel at that time.

if your spark plugs are new, there is no reason for them to be at fault, unless you didn't torque them down enough

a misfire does not always throw a dash illuminated CEL

ideas? tons - intake manifold leaks are the first thing to look at

+1. Also, might want to make sure that all the couplers are tight behind the maf. Can cause a misfire as well. Good luck.

Vortech couplers are really tight fit, can not be leaking there unless if op has damage couplers. Also I don't think leaking between pipe can cause misfire.

Does ur car whole shake when its at idle? And very rough idle?

Btw I think adam@z1auto have some coil packs in stock, I'm sure he can get you that for way cheaper than dealer.

It wasn't like that.....I was in a rush and didn't tighten the coupler on the tb and the bottom had slipped of the tb inlet a bit. As soon as I started it, I had that quick thought that I hadn't tightened it. Only other time I had a misfire was when the maf sensor got gunked up a bit, and was quickly cured with a cleaning.

okay so here's the deal. replaced the spark plugs, no luck.. so we decided to unplug each coil seperately. all 3 on bank 1 were good, 4th cylinder good, 5 and 6 werent effecting the performance, another words, they werent functioning. so my issue is 2 of the cylinders are not performing.. coil packs are good cause we moved them around and they are working.

so next week when i get back from outta town, we're gonna check the injectors, which are 440cc greddys... but why would both cylinders not work?

no roughness at idle, it's perfectly smooth, just runs lack of pwer and groggy.

Maybe bad injectors? How long you had them?
