There are 2 Cusco LSD's - an MZ and an RS - there is no such thing as an MZ RS.

The MZ is a more "raw" LSD, similar to Kaaz - a bit harsh to engage (compared to the RS) sine it does not have the balance springs like the RS does. These springs basically work to equilize the pressure clamping the disks, making for a quicker (we are talking milliseconds though), and smoother transition (this is very noticeable).

MZ is a around the low-mid $900's for the unit itself. Install should not cost more than a few hundred. The RS is $1050 (these prices are from us).

You cannot simply swap an LSD into a base model if that is what you are thinking - IIRC it can be done fairly easily by an experienced tranny shop though there is some modding needed to the clips on the axles.

When Daytona went threw his Kaaz install into his base car, axle clip modification was never mentioned, it was the fact that the swap required the bearings and seals out of a LSD diff. Once the shop figured that out, they were able to proceed. And looking at the service manuel, on how to remove the diff's, the technical break down's and how to remove the axles off the diff itself, I can't come up with what your saying. Could you please explain in detail what your talking about, I mean what's involved in the modification your talking about? Will my dealer throw a fit and charge me a ton more or will they simply twist their wrist and be done with the clip mod?

When Daytona installed his Kaaz in his car, the base model without factory LSD the shop found out they had to add these parts, and nothing else from what I was told, (Nissan part numbers btw)
2 Oil Seals: (38342-P9010)
2 Differential Bearings: (38440-0C000)

Here's the post from Daytona about his LSD install into his base car.

Well folks,

The KAAZ LSD is on!! I had the great guys at SPI Power Excel do the install. It took a lot longer than expected because apparently the differential housings for Zs with and Zs without LSD are different. So they needed to order two new bearings and seals for an LSD-equipped Z to get the Kaaz unit to fit.

I am relaying what Cusco told me - I ahve yet to try to do the install here, so it may be a case where third hand info is not 100% correct

As for the RS, in stock for $1050.00 shipped in the US (corrected my mistake above!)
