Post your top speeds!!! Street/High or Track..Inquiring minds what to know
130mph. Did it this morning at 3am. What a rush. Shifted to 6th at exactly 130mph. Was going to try to bury speedo but ran out of road fast. Car brakes extremely well at 130mph

I did 57 mph in a 55 mph zone in Father O'Flarety's Hyundai Tiburon, on the way to bingo night. Officer deputy dawg clocked us with his radar gun. He is such a nice boy. I'm glad they let him out of the psychiatric hospital.
Now if I could just find my teeth.

That's it moving to MOntana.
Is it true that the state does not have a speed limit. Tell us about it.

The key thing is that most of the Highway Patrol sticks to the major highways. Pick a minor highway or road, find a nice straight, and let 'er rip.
Just be careful - cars, animals, and the like don't take impact at 150+ well. There are more animals out there than you think, and they don't realize that the roads are traveled sometimes.
Go to MT if you can. They still have the equivalent of the $5 "wasting precious energy" ticket, although it's $20, and it only covers speeding up to 10 over the posted speed. Up to 20 over gets you a $40 ticket. Both can be paid on the spot, in cash, with no other recourse.
I got a $20 ticket there, and called to make sure that it wouldn't get reported. Answer: "We don't like other states or especially insurance companies. I suggest you enjoy the rest of your stay in Montana, and don't worry about it." 'Nuff said. Drive Safely!
159? Governor? I do not have a 350Z yet... I'm currently having a house built, so I gotta wait a little bit until after closing on it, etc... Though it does have a 3car garage! :-)
Governor... Out of all the reading I have done, I didn't realize it had a governor, until I just pulled out an old issue of R&T and sure enough, it lists one, but it says it is at 155...

Roselle Park is a square mile so everyone knows everyone somehow. Ive seen him around quite alot and if its the same person your talking about i know he lives on a corner house like 5 blocks from me and he also has another nice car that always sits in the driveway but i forgot what that was.

For my case, there was a difference between the digital and the analouge
174-176 seems a bit optimistic to me. A Z06 which has MUCH more power than our cars will only do 174, and it is probably only slightly less aero than ours. But has a lot more power and torque.
Wind resistance increases at the square of speed or something like that.
IE you need a lot of horsepower to just go a little bit faster. Especially at those speeds. So even if you added like 30 HP to a car I don't think it would go much faster top speed wise. Maybe a few MPH, if that.

My indicated top speed of 174-176 is the theoretical max achievable with the rev limiter deactivated. I am sure that I will at best do mid-160's.
Now, just need to find a place to do it.

i was able to hit 150mph a few months ago following behind a ferrari f360 modena before my ***** dropped and i slowed down. not bad for having been only 17. done on i-95 in miami around 3am. ive also done around 130-140 many times on i-95 and the florida turnpike any time ive had the opportunity. never had enough roadway to get higher than that without reaching other cars.
'03 silverstone track
