Why is this hose shaped an S ??? can it be replaced
I am doing some stuff to my engine bay and want to replace the S shaped hose in the attached PIC. I was planning on using a stainless hose and some anodized clamps. Why is it shaped like and S?? is there any reason I cant run a straight run to it? Opinions please?? im replacing/sleeving abunch of hoses and need to know about this.
**EDIT**
OK i just searched some more and it seems to be a brake booster vacuum line with a check valve.. I Guees i am going to sleeve the hose with SS would it hurt it to remove the insulation thats on the bend nearest the plenum?

It's shaped that weird way otherwise it would pinch itself closed, especially when the engine bay gets hot. Plus it allows for engine movement, otherwise it would come off and or be stressed, if too short.
If you're thinking of switching that hose out all together, keep in mind it has a check valve built into it.
