I'm going to do my first oil change tonight........I'm a little worried about the skid pad and how to get it off. Is it all straight forward....any little "secrets" or special procedures that may help me?

I did is last week, and it couldn't have been easier. Once you get under there, it'll be easy to see what bolts to remove. The last thing to do is use a flat head screwdriver and pop out the center piece on the black rivet-type plastic bolt holding the skid-plate thing onto the car. Do this after all the other small bolts have been removed. Then, the skid plate comes right off in your hands. At this point, the oil filter becomes easily reachable.
