Default 6MT clunk when letting off gas???

Hey guys,

I have an 04 6mt with around 85k on it. Recently when I am driving in gear and I let off the gas, I hear a clunk coming from someone out back. It does it in every gear but more pronounced in the lower gears. For example, if I am in 3rd gear on the gas and take my foot completely off the gas, I hear a clunk. It does it over and over every time I press down the gas and release it.

Let me know if you have any ideas.

You will have to have a mechanic inspect the drive train. There is some play somewhere. Rears axles? Differential? Drive shaft?

I'd also suspect the rear tranny bushing. I had close to 25 track days when I checked mine. In particular, the state highway patrol track has undulations ("woop-de-dos") on the front straight that unweight the Z at 100+ MPH. My rear tranny bushing was badly worn and had to be replaced.
