Hey all - I've noticed a weird noise (sounds like metal shaking or grinding) when I am at low RPMs or when I downshift. It sounds like CUSHHHHHHHHCHSHCHSH

It doesn't happen when Im cruising or at higher RPMs...but I can't figure it out. It sounds like its coming from the engine or under the car. I jsut had an oil change and everything works fine on the car ...just the annoying noise?


Anyone have or hear of this problem before? THanks!

Hard to say. I would first try to determine if its make the sound only at a certain traveling condition, or at a certain RPM. Try to figure out if its engine speed or car speed related. That will put you on a path to start hunting for it.

If it is engine speed, get someone to hold the RPMs where it makes the noise and try to point the sound. I'll used a long tube to listen through, to isolate areas.

 

I think this just happen to me but it went away after a day.
Never happened before, so random.

I heard the noise when I was doing a smooth, slow acceleration toabout 4 RPMS and higher. It was like what the OP originally stated. Can't describe it too well but it was pissing me off!!
