Default New Product: Z1 VQ35DE Twin Plate Clutch Assembly

We are installing a testing a brand new Z1 twin plate clutch assembly this weekend in an APS TT G35. It features twin 7.25" clutch discs and an aluminum flywheel and weighs in at only 25.4 lbs! Designed for high horsepower applications we are looking forward to testing this guy out and seeing the results.

Since only the flywheel will need to be modified expect an HR version soon.

Pricing will be available next week.

According the designer and builder it will be good for 600+ rwhp. We're testing it out on a 500 horse G35 in house and will have extensive bench testing done by the manufacturer before it hits the market. They are using a similar set up now in LS1 applications over 800 HP. With different friction materials and plates it can be built for higher power levels.

As I stated in the initial post on Friday we don't have full pricing info yet. Should have it this week, we're test fitting the first prototype now and have to make sure no additional machining or changes have to be made before setting the price.

I'm still waiting on final pricing to come through once we've fully tested the unit and are sure that no changes need to be made.

The standard set up uses an organic material. We're looking into other options as well.

The manufacturer is still dragging on pricing, also making a couple of changes to the friction material and the spring pressure to make it a little more driveable. The one we've been testing in a 500 rwhp G35 is a b*tch in traffic. The next test model should be much smoother and still have plenty of power holding capacity. Hopefully I'll have more info next week.
