vibration while not in gear
i've been getting a vibration under the car as of lately. while immediately i started thinking out of balance driveshaft, i've now changed that thought.
basically, while in neutral if i steadily climb the revs right around 2,000 rpm i start noticing a vibration which gets worse as the rpm's continue to climb. the vibrations match the speed of the engine.
could this be a bushing gone bad, motor mounts, etc?
anyone had an issuse like this? not sure where to start diagnosing.

ive seen that issue on trucks. its been bad u-joints on the drive shafts every time. I've replaced them and solved the issue. that maybe (maybe not) what you're up against here, worth looking into. if u want to check, put ur car in neutral, disengage the rear drive axles, and the shaft should spin freely with ur hand with absolutely no binding whatsoever. if it binds, theres your vibration and replace the u-joints.
i've thought about that as well. i had an old 5.0 mustang and the u-joints went bad, but it was much more noticeable at 60+ MPH.
i also forgot to mention that the vibration/feedback was coming right out of the shifter.
one more question, is there any reason u-joints go bad?
