For you right now there is no need. The camshafts and heads on the revup provide more than enough flow for your current setup. Invest in a spacer, MREV2, some headers then maybe some cams.

I'd be willing to bet you that 95% of the Zs that go to the strip, track or autocross are on 100% stock internals. Failures are almost non-existant. The VQ is a very strong, reliable engine. The FI built engines, naturally get beefed up internals.
It sounds like you've already decided to do cams, no matter what logic we present. There's nothing magical or extreme about them, so sure, you can drive them on the street, daily.

It sounds like you think there is something wrong with stock cams structurally. What dave is trying to tell you is the stock cams with almost definetly not be the weak link that would break.
Nope, not much. Do some research and you'll see that people who have spent thousands of dollars on cams and headers have seen very small gains. You could get more power just by spending a few hundred dollars on a MREV2 plenum, high flow cats and a tune.
If you have a non-revup engine, the MREV2 will provide good gains, and a spacer will provide a small additional gain.
uh, no
to the OP - what Dave is telling you is partially correct. Cams are not your cars current bottleneck. It would take a substantial level of mods to have your stock revup cam shafts prevent a bottle neck to power. You would have ALOT of parts to buy/install/tune, and ALOT of money to spend before you should start considering cams
