Default Rev up vs non rev up

How can I tell the difference between the rev up and non rev up, I have an 06 rev up with a blown motor, been searching for a while and trying to get a rev up isnt simple. And going online it's hard to tell the difference from a rev up to a non rev up. If yall could help me that would be most appreciated.

You prolly want to post in the forced induction section.

Just my 2 cents. Find a used engine or get IPP built one:

Geez, this thread is full of off topic intrusions that make reading it a nightmare, people need to take more care and consider others before jamming their question into the middle of a conversation. Selfish, very selfish.

The 2003-2004 model motors were non rev up type producing like 287HP.
The 2005 and 2006 model years uses the higher reving motor producing 300HP.
The 2007 and 2008 used a 307HP but with slighlty less torque, not sure if its a Rev up motor or not.
My question is this, just exaclty what is the internal differences in the motors from 03-08 that are responsible for this increase in RPM red line and overall increases in HP.
Common sense would dictate that it might be Throttle body size increase, Caming, changes in the ECU, chaanges to the intake etc etc.
But we should be able to identify these changes and then hopefully incorperate some of them into the old motors.
ALso I was told today, there was a problem with the older motors, 03-04 in the rod bearing area. It seem there is a stretching of the rod or main bearing bolts??
Anyone have any input on any of these points? Thanks, Mike

The de is the weakest of them all but the fact that the 06 cars weigh nearly 200 lbs more almost makes them equal. But when it comes to power adders a revup is going to see better gains than de.

The very few hp will pale in comparison to the torque differences. There's a reason the MREV2 is based on the DE lower half and often used on the revup.
