Do some research on the VQ before you write it off. I thought LS-1 swap at first but with a closer look at my goals the VQ is sufficient. That being said, I do believe the RB26 is an awesome platform that can reach 600HP easier, but unless you have on lying around and also have the ability to do the install yourself I would stick with the VQ. Unless money and time is no object. Just my opinion

I can afford the money but I don’t want to wise my money on the VQ.
Because if I spent the same amount on both the RB26 will makes you smile.

So you want to swap in a heavier, older, less technological engine? Really. Let's look here. First off I can tell you don't have funds to build the VQ nor do you have funds to buy or build a 26. Because if you did for the price of the 26 you could have a Greddy TT kit ready to install. With a good build sheet that kit alone is good for 700+.

any idea.
Do you have the RB26 motor and tranny already??? More than likely you'll have to rebuild the motor and the tranny, so figure in cost for the motor/tranny the cost to upgrade it the cost to install unless you're doing it yourself a completely different wiring harness and the list goes on.... If you're not experience in this dont do it.. Even if you have someone else do it you're paying buca dollars.. Quick question how old are you??

Sell the Z and use the money to buy a 240sx shell and put an RB26 in it. Depending on what year your Z is you could easily build a 600HP 240 with what you get from the Z.

If you got the money then buy the Skyline....... That will make you smile when you open your garage. If I where you I'd buy a skyline that needs some work and just rebuild/restore it. Just did a quick ebay check for the motor you're lookin for and it's gonna cost anywhere from 3k-4k cause everybody wants that motor and thats not including the price for the tranny good luck finding one too i might add

Look Newbie I say newbie cause you just logged in here on my350z. He does make some good points about somethings and you shouldnt be a douch about it. You asked for some opinions and now you're getting them... If you cant take some of the comments you're going to get than maybe you should just leave.. But you said it your self that you DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE VQ MOTOR and right now it's defin showing.... IF you want the RB26 than get it and lets close this thread before the real fists start flying

I'm going to be straight with you, if you wanna throw in a RB motor in the Z go ahead not me or anybody can stop you and if you have the funds and have other reasons of putting in the RB motor than go ahead, and happy drifting.....
