Cons would be higher rpms when on the high way :/ and little shorter gearing. Is it auto or stand because some people with auto would say 4. something gearing but if you have standard then people would say 3.9 if i remember all this correctly. Try searching and you should be able to find a couple threads on the subject.

here are two threads that may help. I too am looking to do this mod. From what i have found, it seems the 4.08 gears are the best choice. Slightly better performance and cheaper. which means more money for a LSD or the install. The best place to start looking for more info is in the 350Z tech area, then search 3.9, 4.08, or gears.

... unless you're trying to improve straight line performance after 1st gear. That won't be any quicker.
(every gear will have more torque and pull harder, but it's effectively negated in a straight line by the fact that you must shift earlier)

that is true i do alot of auto cross and pairing the gears with the ultra light flyweel ans stage 2 cluch thats in the car should shave time off the clock

Yeah, around the track, gears should turn your car into a beast with all that newfound available torque and the better utilization of your powerband.
