3 Nissan dealers later.. NO ONE knows the problem... HELP!

oh man i really hope. Iam doing the swap now.. Ineed to go get some bulbs though.
Btw.. I was getting curious ... I can understand that the after market LEDs take a lot of current.. but my problem also happens when the lights are OFF.. that means no current or anything related to the ECU because they are off.. Im confused..
one last thing.. Do I need to do some sort of computer reseting ? or anything of that sort? before I take it for a drive?

Too bad I came late into this thread as my 04 G35 showed the same problem when I had it after I had a hitch installed.
They installed the module that senses the wires off the tails for brakes, blinkers, etc. Well it was causing problems for the ECU and acted just like your car. When you turn the blinker on, the rpms would drop 1000 rpms at a time when the light turned on too. Was a bit crazy, but after them putting a unit that pulls power from the battery to the device and just taps into the tails for signals, it worked fine.

Nice work !! Lots of time and effort im glad you fixed it!! not only because your up and running again but also because im experiencing the same issue so now i have a place to start no leds but i have a huge system! lots of hiding places for electrical bugs ! Keep you posted !

This last weekend i had the same issue after working on a customer's car.
He had a 6MT 03 350z. Cleaned the TB, entire intake manifold, swapped upper plenum, cleaned filter, cleaned MAF sensor, and did SEAFOAM. After all this, the car had the same issues as yours.
Long story short, after having Nissan check with computers n having replaced the MAF sensor, ends up it was leaking plenum spacer gaskets. N just like you, the owner had the plenum w no issues for years.
My fix: removed plenum spacer gaskets and lower plenum gasket, prepped all gasketed surfaces with brake cleaner, then used black RTV instead of OEM gaskets. Applied RTV, mated surfaces, finger tightened bolts, allowed time to setup, then torqued down bolts to specs.
After doing so, it immediatly fixed the issue.

LOL same here, sorry for coming late but I could have told you right away it was your brake light circuitry... cruise fails because of current bleed through OEM/modified brake light wiring, making the ECU think you're constantly laying on the brakes, and at the same time cutting throttle assuming your gas pedal is probably stuck.

vas...
what did you end up doing in regards to the tail light situation? what do you currently have installed?
OEM (incandescent) tail lights?
OEM (LED) tail lights?
aftermarket (LED) tail lights with proper resistor?
i'm curious, because i'm getting ready to install some aftermarket LED tails and wondering if i'll run into similar problems. my manufacturing date on the tails is 11/05 and this is the where i got them...
http://stores.ebay.com/mmmotorsco
i've already tested them with the car (off), these LED tails have a large difference between dim/bright or on/brake mode. i mention this because some individuals have complained of having to little difference in brightness. i don't know, maybe poor quality on the circuit board, poor LED's or both!?
my Z is an 04.5 - 6mt and no VDC, it's a base model. so this test will be interesting... based on what others have reported. i guess i'll do it somewhere remote, just in case my car blows up, lol! i still find this all a little concerning, what if your brake light goes out, is the car going to take off like a Toyota, jk!?

^ Quick, we are discussing this very subject in the tuning section as well, thread with my name on it.
I just took my all red OEM-kinda looking LEDs off last night and it def made a difference, although i have no way to prove it. We are discussing how these lights could possibly affect the cars performance, but it seems to be doing just that.
Another guy had ANZO brand and had problems, mine were identical to his, but my brand was EAGLE EYES which are alittle cheaper than ANZOs. So it seems to not be isolated to one brand.
Binder has even been looking over the Z's wiring diagrams trying to figure it out.
VAS, i would also like you to chime in on my thread as well when you get a chance, id like to know alittle more about what your car was doing, how it changed, what you did, and type exactly of tails you had.
