Problem with Nissan
So my car has been in the dealer since last tuesday due to some overheating problems. They began telling me that it had all hese problems and that I may have to change the motor and all. So I call them today and the say that they are waiting for the new ECU to get there, the problem is my ECU currently on the car has the osiris tune done to it. What should I do? How will I be able to get that ECU back. If i ask them now they will probably get suspcious then if I ask them when the car is done I dont know if te will give it back. Btw, the car is being serviced under extended warranty so everything is free. Do you guys recommend anything? Please help me out if you know anything or have been in this position before.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If it's an extended warranty, they shouldn't need the old ECU anymore, request that they give all the old parts back to you. Don't ask specifically just for the computer, take everything. Although, if the ECU is messed up somehow, and replacing it solves the problem, you aren't going to want to use it again. Plan on getting another tune I would say is probably your best bet.

Just ask them to keep the parts they change, because you want them.
If it was warranty through Nissan, they may be required to send the old parts back to be inspected for cause of failure, but generally aftermarket warranty companies don't give two ***** about what happens to the old stuff.
One thing though, sometimes there is a core charge on electronics like that, so they might have to send your computer back instead of paying a couple hundred bucks for core replacement. I know when I was working at a dealership we did that with ECM's, dash clusters, stuff like that. Couldn't keep the old ones without paying for them, and it wasn't cheap.

Rule #1. If you bring in your car for service, return it as close to stock as possible. If they found out you re-tuned the car, they'd almost certainly blame that for your overheating problem. Oddly enough, that might be the problem anyway

It sounds like you are holding on to that tune pretty tightly. I'd be interested to see how aggressive they tuned that one, like someone stated before, it could easily be the problem for the overheating.
