Default UTEC Killing My Battery?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with the UTEC drawing power when the car is turned off and killing the battery? I have had my battery go dead twice recently after the car sat for about a month each time. This never happened until I added two gauges, a boost controller, and the UTEC. I don't think it is the gauges or the boost controller, since it is quite obvious that they are powered off when the key is in the "off" position.

I believe it's the UTEC too. I had the same thing happen to me. My battery will die after sitting for a few weeks.

Anyone else know anything about this?

My car does the exact same thing. I have no idea why, and since I haven't had much time to drive it in the past few months, I've just disconnected the battery after every drive.

I have a Utec as well and have been having some similar issues also. I fixed my a/f gauge that was hooked into a add-a-fuse because that was creating some strange electrical issues but, I have yet to determine if that was the cause of the battery drain. I also have a brand new battery. I guess I"ll know in few days when I try to start the car up.

I have the same problem but thought it was the dash daq I fitted, didn't even occur to me that the Utec might cause this problem. Any of the tuners have an insight???

My G is in winter storage, which is why I am just now noticing the issue. It wasn't a problem when I drove it every week. I am just going to have to disconnect the battery from now on if the car is going to sit very long.

I have a UTEC also,I bought an Optima yellowtop battery around november 2008 (so i don't think the battery is bad)and have a similar issue, I never thought it was the UTEC though, how does the Utec play a role in this? It's been about average 20-25 degree out for the past few days I lasted started my car thursday, then tried again sunday and dead battery, I thought it was just the cold but this is interesting...

Nevermind the positive terminal on my battery was hella corroded... :-/

I have the same issue. My battery goes dead. I have a UTEC. I just keep my Z hooked up to a better tender. Seems to work well.
