Thumbs up Pics of the Crawford w the Stock Cover

First let me tell you that the Plenum is one of the "best bang for the buck" the other is the Cat Pipes... the car pulls very hard in top end and have more T response( thanks to Doug very cool guy)... anyway the desig is not perfect but cover some of the engine:

Default Crawford Plenum

I have held off on this due to the cover not fitting. This is great news, can you explain how it fits? Does Crawford make it to fit or did you modify it?

Thanks for the info.

I've held off on this because it looks like a mis-shapen birthday cake from the local grocery store.

I thought it was posted earlier that because of the way the Plenum is welded there's no way the STB would fit.

Did you just cut off part of the Lawnmower cover to make it fit?

Looks good though.

I think the point is that with the modified cover, even the crawford brace won't fit as the plastic cover is in the way...

So true! I took the cover off even without the plenum on it.

Cool for those of you who have to have the cover. I bet you could carve around the area that our STB requires to make his modified cover fit with the bar.

For those still holding out we are almost at the 100 unit mark. Wait time is in the 2-3 week time frame. Still waiting on cores. Nissan is out . . . .apparently someone in TN has bought them all.

I personally do not like the engine cover and was happy to take if off when I put on my Crawford Plenum and Crawford STB. I think it looks pretty sweet!!

Default weight difference

Just a question that comes to mind:

The Craword plenum is clearly larger than the stock, but what is the weight difference betwwen the two? Are you adding 30-40 pounds to the car, or are they very similar in weight? Just wondering if anyone has actually compared the weights.

best tool to use to cut the engine cover would be a DREMEL in my opinion...

I have one if any one wants to use it in the Santa Clarita Cali area...

So much work. I would not want to do that! You are talking pull the engine just to get the stock bar to fit? Do you have a lot of free time on your hands or something? If you want the bar that badly, either do not get the crawford plenum or buy their STB.

I was just sayin that could be an alternative. if you ever had to get your engine pulled out you can do some shaving while you are able to. and no I dont have enough time just do it for the hell of it. but if you ever did shave the mounts you can always go for an aftermarket strut bar thats not crawford. and no I am not saying the crawford bar is bad either.

The crawford STB seems to be able to fit because it has an adapter that makes it sit a few inches forward in front of the crawford plenum. Do you guys think it's possible to simply make a similar adapter for the stock STB and make it sit a few inches forward. I know the stock STB comes up higher... but could it still fit?

They looked at various ways to do that if I remember, and they wouldn't work.

I wonder what Doug is doing to Nissan's analysis of parts failures You guys have cornered the market it seems, too
