Default HELP!! Clutch Line install

I'm trying to install my clutch line, and it the 10mm nut at the slave cylinder is ungodly tight. So tight that I rounded the nut trying to get it off. Does anybody have any ideas how to get it off? I sprayed it with PB blaster already.

This car has had the slave cylinder replaced, and I'm afraid the mechanic overtightened the nut.

Why is there not a DIY on this? I planned to make one, but I failed.

okay, no problem,

go to autozone and get a swivel 10mm socket wrench with a cut out in it. Its about $11.99 there.

i have a pic of the one i used. its perfect for that job. As i know EXACTLY what your talking about.

edit:
here is the pic of the flex head wrench thats full of win:

also, you may wanna check out my clutch bleed diy MOD i did to bleed the clutch line in under a min using a motive power bleeder

Will this be able to grab ahold of the now rounded nut? When I say rounded, I mean it.

damn, in that case, no...you will need small vise grips most likely then.

you have two choices,
go to the dealear and get another line with the nuts on it. I have one they are like 10 bucks.

or

get another one of those nuts at autozone, etc and cut the line and re flare it with a tube flaring tool.....also sold at autozone.

I say this, becuase im sure with the vise grips you can get it off, but you wont be able to put it back on tight and good with out most likely pinching the tube and ruining a good seal.

G/L...

Thanks for the help. I tried the flex wrench, but it only got worse. I wonder why that motherf*cker nissan tech had to tighten it so tight?

I'm going to try the vise grips next.

I've almost given up. Vice grips, locking pliers and regular pliers do not work. This thing had to have been way over tightened at some point.

Jason, how hard is it to re-flare the hard line?

I hate to admit defeat. I've done exhausts, headers, brakes and thought I could handle this. The frustration is killing me, and I may just have to go to a mechanic.

before you go to a mechanic just get another line. if you remover your inner wheel fender liner you can see what line it is and then go get one from courtesy parts.com in richardson, tx. (not sure if your in dallas still) if not they will ship it. they had mine in stock.

as for flaring, ive done it and its worked fine, the cheap 12 dollar flare kits they sell are worth a shot if you wanna try it, but you need to get another nut. they sell them in the back bins at autozone, etc..

I actually stripped the lower fitting, so I went ahead and ordered a clutch assembly tube (30652) from courtesyparts.com. It's the line that connects directly to the internal slave cylinder on the '07.

If I can get the fitting off the transmission housing and the upper fitting in the wheel well off without stripping them then I should be able to tackle it myself. The stealership in Norman, OK wants $250 for the install, which is outrageous and out of the question.

I think I will douse the fittings in PBBlaster everyday until I try again Saturday. I've got nothing to do but watch the 24 hrs. of Daytona. So as long as the weather is good I'll be out there trying again. Got any more tips to getting the fittings off without stripping the brass?
