Default Spec Clutch Twin Clutch Review

Greetings to you all,

I was wondering why not many 350z owners have this clutch, I have just placed an order for the twin application P-trim.

http://www.specclutch.com/cars/Nissa...003/Super_Twin

is the price seem to good to be true? it also includes a billet flywheel.

so if you guys may, please post your reviews on why you have this clutch or not. what makes others better than Spec. I see it used on many application in all types of cars. so why so little of it used on our VQ engines.

thanks....

Probably because 900 pound capacity is overkill. I can cope with just about any clutch-flywheel combination on the street, but this type of clutch will be unfriendly.

Why would you even consider this setup considering your not putting out anywhere near the hp and tq required. Mult your output 3x then start looking into such an aggressive setup. Its not gonna be like a street setup with the addition of capacity its completely different and I mean feel and drivability.

wannabuy-i have a SPEC Stage 2+ on my G35 6MT 2006 HR, I had a Stage 3 on a Mustang Cobra 04 making 637 rwhp. The G is making 386 rwhp, around 367 tq. I love SPEC and their clutches and lightened flywheels, and I know the owners David Norton and Pete personally. The stage 3 is re-buildable clutch, the SUPER TWIN, is for tq. ranges in excess of 800-900+ ft. lbs of tq., i have driven a Corvette C5R with a KATECH STREET ATTACK KIT with a SPEC Super Twin, and the peddle pressure is near stock, amazing they can do that with near 800 rwhp. sound like the Stage 3 would be sufficient, but on my Cobra, that clutch felt like a light switch, on or off, if I got stuck in rush-hour traffic, I'd get home with clutchitis swollen legius, It hammered hard when you needed it to, but man, it was terrible in traffic (that was 2 years ago) i would guess pedal pressure is better now with Stage 3 or 3+. Super Twin is overkill, but you will never use up all the tq. capacity of that clutch, if you add more power, it will take it, but compare costs of both, either way, I only put SPEC in all my cars, I've tried them all believe me, I came from Motor Trend Publisher Source Interlink Media.

Spec stage 1 2 and 3.....clutches blow out a lot in the maxima community...happened to all my friends who had them...maybe they were just defects for maximas lol.

I've got a Spec stage 5 singe plate 6 puck clutch. That thing holds like a gorrilla but man does it tear you up if your not use to it. Hopefuly the twin plate is less binary.

i've had the super twin for a year and its never been right. sent it back to spec and they said it was all within params. I bought new slave cylinder so hopefully that fixes it.

Its slips nicely on the street. I just hope it holds the power they claim. Their trq ratings are based on mathematics and not actual testing.

dont know what year your car is, but you must have the short pivot ball and matching clutch fork for it to work as well.

Spec clutches are complete trash. I cannot stress this enough. Their quality control is comical.
