Default where do I find a shim kit ?>vlsd install to base

I pretty much got a vlsd at a good price and the other needed parts for a steal. My question is where do I find the shim kits to ensure the final drive gears meets perfectly. I’ve read some posts w/ owners saying no adjustments were necessary. I want to do this in one day and would like to have the parts just incase. Any help would be appreciated. Thx

most vendors who can supply lsd setups can also supply shims/shim kits. try Z1.

We do not supply shims as there is no way to know what shims one might need. We tell all of our customers to order them from their local dealers.

They're supposed to measure and tell you what size they need (the installer, that is). I went through the same problem. For other cars, there are kits that allow you to select which one fits best (or so I was told). I could find no such thing for this car. My shop (RIPPMODS) ended up halfassing a LSD+gear install and throwing it back together based on "oh it seems alright." Then when I complained and brought it back and they supposedly "reshimmed" it. It wasn't until I cracked it open myself that I saw that nothing was in spec.

Since you are doing only an LSD swap, you probably will not need shims.

thx for the imput. Im sorry you had such issues w/ your shop. Im really hoping your right about not needing spacers. Its my dd and my time frame to do the work is tight. Im begining to think i might just do the swap and hope i dont need spacers and if i do order them after and bum rides from the gf.

Does anyone know if the open diff is a different size from the vlsd? I couldnt find any info on the matter and that would possibly help me guestimate what i need in advance.
