Default Can i use my Walboro 255 with a stock setup?

So i'm going back to stock and selling the z. I've located everything i need except a stock fuel pump. But i want to pull the blower off this weekend (long weekend) and put everything back to stock so i can get the ball rolling. Am i ok to leave the Walboro 255 pump in the tank and drive on it with everything else back to stock untill i can locate a used OEM pump?

I'm thinking i'll be ok since that's what the FPR is there for. But i figured i'd ask in case i'm wrong.

P.S. By drive on the pump, i may put 500 miles on her in the next 3 months, so it's not gonna see a whole lot of use.

Thanks!!

yes u can...as long as the swirlmod was done to the pump that phunk has on here the pump acts exactly like a stock fuel pump just with the ability to flow more when needed...

I'll have to look that up. When i installed it Per the instructions with the SC, it just has me pop it in the bucket, and call it a day.

look up swirljet mod...the way u have it without a rfs u will have very high psi at idle..if the swirljet mod is done u will be fine and not know the difference if there was a stock pump in or walbro 255

Ok thanks i'll look it up now!!!

Also, i will be selling this pump with my SC kit when i find someone willing to sell me an OEM pump to take it's placein my car. Will this mod effect it's performance when used with the SC later down the road?

the pump will be fine to install again, but im pretty sure if u do it u may need a new bucket to put a stock pump back in as im pretty sure the stock bucket has to get hacked a little and idk if a stock pump will go back in...u may be better off selling the kit without the pump or just buying a used one on here to throw in with it and leave the walbro in ur car...idk...

heres a link u will have to read up and find out

I'll prob just do this, it looks easy enough. I'll just buy another pump to sell with the kit (they are cheap enough).

Thanks again!!

if he doesnt do the swirljet mod he will run a high fuel psi at idle, if he does the swirljet mod it will act the same as a stock pump..It would be ok yes but why not just do it right ya know

Yes definitely do the swirl mod... I ran the walbro after my Vortech with no problems on stock NA. I just removed it bc it was too loud

Don't do any mods to the housing, just get another stock pump. Surely there are people with FI around with a used one sitting around collecting dust. I may even still have the one out of our shop car. If you want, I'll sell it cheap.

Well, now that's the plan. After digging through boxes, i found my stock pump. So it'll be going on this weekend when the blower comes off.

Question though.....

So i've only had the Walbro in there for a few months. But i didn't do any mods to it obviously when i instlleed it. And the Stillen setup uses the stock injectors, and only used the 7th injector at 85%+ throttle. So wouldn't it be the equivilant of running stock with a 225 pump when at idle still since there are no changes to my fuel intake, or mapping at idle with this type of FI?

Not that it really matters to me after Friday, but i'm just curious now. And this may be something to keep in mind for other Stillen owners when they do the stage 4 install that requires this pump.

Thanks for all the help!!
