Ok, so I've had my headers on for a little while now. Absolutely love them. But, I'm hearing what sounds like a knocking sound, like they're bumping something. Haven't been able to identify this yet, but still looking.

Anybody notice a bumping sound when the engine is running? Like I said, sounds like the headers or something else, is rattling against something under the car.

Sorry for being so vague, but that's the best I can do at this point.

 

Yes its normal, either its tapping something or its been there forever and you only notice it now because your paying attention after the header install.. I have all kinds of sounds that scare me.. I have been going good for almost 4yrs built engine/FI though..

 

I installed headers a while back and noticed a few new noises.

My problem was the bracket that secures the cats/tp's broke on both sides and was rattling. Weld them back to their original place and you're done.

Guess I would have to get under the car while it is running and look.

 

I noticed stock cats had a broken bracket (probably from touching down on speed bumps and steep driveways). I can imagine that making a similar noise.
