I usually wouldn't take the time to pull this apart, but it really is not a pricey piece. Taking into consideration our overhead, materials, direct labor, and the hardware included, it's pretty reasonable. Injected's brace uses one bar instead of our twin setup and we only charge $50 more.

I think the price is just fine. I'm just not prepared to grind my nismo cover. If you could design it so it goes around the fins, it would work for either and the market would be a tad bigger! So how do you know exactly where to drill the holes from the back of the rear subframe? Got a template or something?

I understand not wanting to grind your diff cover, but it may need to happen for you sooner or later with your setup!
You can see in the pictures where the 2 holes need to be drilled. Now that we are selling more of these, I will try to see if I can get some kind of template or instructions made for the ones we aren't installing.

I'm trying to figure out a way to tempt you to redesign to clear the fins so I don't have to do any grinding! Is there a way (besides a wad of $$$)?
And a template would be great - don't want to just wing it and have the hole be slightly off! I think getting a drill on the front side (diff side) of the rear subframe would be tough. Is that what you do? Then you could just mount on diff, mark, and drill.
I have the DSS level 5 pro axles, so I think my "weak link" is either the 5AT or that rear diff bolt, but I'm not exactly sure... I am tuning for more power, but I'm trying to keep torque around or below 500 throughout the powerband for the sake of the trans. Not sure if I can break that mounting point with "only" 500-550 wtq. Also I think the fluid coupling of the TC helps absorb the shock, but I may just be reassuring myself falsely!

Unfortunately I don't forsee a redesign any time soon. We have lots on our plate right now and would need a car in here with a Nimso diff cover to do it. As for the template, I spoke with our fabricator today. He knows it needs to be done but like I said, we have a lot going on and need to find the time to make it.
As for your mods and power level, you can honestly snap the diff case at any power level if you launch it hard enough. I want to say your single bolt on the diff case is your weak link for sure. Your TC may be helping a tad bit, but the drivetrain is still taking that first shock really hard when you first launch the car, not to mention any wheel hop you have.

It would be better if you make the passenger side brace so that it could ultitlize the existing hole just like Injected Peformance brace, but still bolting on the front side of the subframe. As long as I can keep my GTspec rear brace I'm happy.

That would require the brace to have two different designs for each side. We figure if guys are willing go drill one hole, then a second wouldn't be a big deal.

350Z400rwhp- Yes the diff must be unbolted from the axles and driveshaft and dropped to install.
weak 350z- I wish I snapped a few pics! I just shipped out a kit today. It does come with the sleeves along with the rest of the necessary hardware.
