Default 3rd gear synchro needed.

Hi guy i have a very bad grind when downshifting from 4th to 3rd or coming from 5th to 3rd. My mechanic says that 3rd-4th sycro is bad i was wondering what is the best place to get one.
One weird thing is that when i shift from 2nd to 3rd there is no grind...so can it be anything else?

You have several options:

a. Your mechanic has agreed to repair the transmission if you get the parts?
b. Replace with a used transmission.
c. Replace with a new transmission

im based in pakistan and we dont have nissan dealership here which can get me a new transmission or even a used one, and its a big hassle to import the whole transmission over here on my own, so im just left with the rebuild option. Where can i find oem synchro in US?

Give http://www.courtesyparts.com/ a call or email. I recommend that you disassemble the transmission, and see what parts must be replaced. Good luck.

Thanks, but one more thing that i want to ask u is that i was just looking at
http://www.courtesyparts.com/350z-pa...4_715_778.html
and i was wondering, what part should i least order to rectify this problem. As i dont want to open my tranny and look the problematic parts first and then order it as shipping from US takes arnd 15-20days then 1 week in clearing. So in short i dont want my car to be parked at workshop for a month or two. Most ppl here in my country are recommending me to just give my tranny to the machine shop which deals in transmission and they will make or modify things which are making problems but i want this to be my last option.
