Middle bolt broke on pressure plate install of new clutch....
So i bought a new exedy stage 2 clutch and flywheel for my 03z and i was just installing it and had a bolt break that holds the pressure plate for the clutch...there are a total of 9 bolts that hold the pressure plate on, each in a cluster of 3 around the pressure plate area. The bolt that snapped is positioned in the middle of 2 other bolts. I don't know if it would be fine putting the car back together or if I should be worried about the pressure plate not holding or causing the clutch to slip or even worse :\ Anyone run into this situation before? Would this be safe to drive on?
I marked which bolt broke on a retail image. http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/5894/104736.jpg
Posted this in Maintenance & Repair too, wasn't sure where it belonged...I know double posting isn't good but i need an answer asap!

I have seen this happen, on a z too.....more than once...
first, i would remove the clutch pressure plate and see where it snapped? Did the head only break off? if so you can possibly get some high quality vise grips and grab any remaining shaft and slowly remove it.
if its inside you can drill it out with a way smaller diameter drill bit then use a drill bit extractor bit:
but ill tell you honestly..........not removing it you will be fine.....
Not sure how hard you are on your z, daily driver or track car, but leaving it will be fine for most drivers.
but that bolt location is the clutch pressure plate on the flywheel...........remove both and get it on a table and work on it! I would get it out...

Ya was trying to get it going before spring break but looks like a no go, would rather make sure its done right. Took the flywheel off to have the bolt taken out and time to order new ones!
