Does anyone use the engine oil additives for their car? If so, what do you use?

Don't bother with any of that. Just use Mobil 1 synthetic and you won't need anything else

Exactly. Just change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles using this stuff and you will never need or benefit from any oil additive.

Yup, They're right.

Last year somebody gave me Z-Max for Christmas and many people on this board advised me not to use it so I "re-gifted" it and put in Mobil 1 (w/o any additives) instead.
In my other car, I've tried Redline and HKS racing oil but I always seem to go back to Mobil 1.
So far, so good..

3000 miles oil changes very outdated. Just local service station BS to get you in there more. Follow the manufacturer's recommended schedule. With Mobil 1 synth I doubt you need to change any sooner than every 10,000 miles. And stay away from all that additive BS, and tornado fuel savers, and magnetic fuel savers, etc, etc, etc. The automotive world is full of ******** these days!

Wow, I would like to see your engine and mine after 100,000.

I change mine every 3500 or 3 months. 10,000 is way to high for me. But everyone has their opinions, so this is mine.

Don't wait until 10,000, more like 5000 or 6 months, but def. not 10,000.

Do yall agree?

Besides, you change it every 10,000, then guess what, you just voided your warranty.

It's true that synthetics last a long time. Unfortunately so do combustion byproducts that accumulate in the oil. If you want your motor to last with minimal wear and deterioration do it evey 3,000. Not outdated at all - especially for a performance car that gets driven hard and redlined frequently. Any experienced mechanic or race tech will confirm this.

Lol, it just so happens that i chose to go with that one before you even posted. = / that sucks. So is this bad for my engine? I was playing with this little gadget in the front of the store showing the differences between oil with nothing and oil with lucas. The only thing though, why is it so damn thick??? It was practically like cold syrup!!
