VLSD Conversion
I'm really wanting to convert to the vlsd. Now I looked into the cusco, quaife, and nismo but I know they are unnecessary for my driving style. In my research I found fontana nissan's website along with parts needed for the conversion. My dilemma is on the link provided they specify viscous coupler and also the full differential case. Which do I order because there is a price difference of about $500? Also their illustrations are very identical. I pm'd Scott at Fontana he was very helpful until this point. If I need to order the full differential case then I will just snag a Nismo unit from a vendor.

Just get a real LSD, the VLSD is actually very close to being considered a joke.

I'm not understanding what your driving style is then. If wheel slip is never an issue, the open LSD works just fine. The VLSD barely does anything at all even when brand new. After just 7000 miles I went from the VLSD to Quaife and would never look back. The VLSD will not help you in bad weather, and it certainly isn't very helpful on a track. It's a great concept that was not pulled off particularly well by Nissan. If you have an opportunity to drive a Z with a VLSD please do before you dump $500+ on it.

Also my driving style consits of moderate track visits and alot of spirited driving, also some dd (sort of the reason I do not want a real lsd, too much chatter), and soon to include legal highspeed highway events.

I've driven my wife's G35 and there is no peg leg launch with the vlsd that I noticed. Whereas my Z when on the launch spins a tire and I may be wrong but believe my 60's are effected.
