camshaft position sensor code
my Traction control light came on and my Slip light came on yesterday then i noticed it was starting poorly so i checked it and it threw a code for camshaft position sensor it starts very late like your battery is almost dead thing. so i disconnected the battery for a min and it reset the car it then started perfect and ran great 50 miles later light came back on next time i went to start same thing super delayed.
Since when it reset and it ran great its probably just the sensor right?
Where is this sensor located ?
thanks in advance!

Depends on what year you have. The 07+ models it is located on top and at the rear of the valve covers. For 03-06 they are located on the rear ends of the cylinder head. If you have an 06 becareful since the EVT sensor is back there. The CMP sensors are the inner sensors and the EVT sensor is the one closest to the exhaust manifold.
I have an 03 track modeland my car does the same thing. When I bought it 2 months ago it had a code for the crank/angle sensor and or a low battery. I have changed bothe and the car will seem to work fine for awhile then all of the suden it just wont start again. When it does start it runs good the rest of the day. The code doesnt come back on and their is more than one cam sensor so I am stuck waiting for my check engine light to come back on. So sometimes my car will just roll over and not start at all. sometimes it will backfire once or twice. Then on other days it will start right up. Wish I could just get the problem fixed. My car runs great and was just dyno tuned so I know that part of the car is all working right. IDK let me know if anyone has any ideas of what to do
What part did you get to fix your car? Do you think it had similar problems to my car. Did you just change one of the cam sensors or what? thanks for your time and any info would be great
yea it was bank one cam position sensor the straight one my car threw the code for that and was having similair issues starting to me it sounds like your car has something else going on aswell i would reccomend getting acces to an OBD2 get the codes it throws and ask around

it also sound like your cars timing is off take it to a dealership or a tuning place have them check your timing and basic things like that could be as simple as some one changed the timing to -2 and the car cant find the banks easily
