New to Z world, tranny consern 2008 Enth
Just picked up a fresh 2008 Enthusiast 350 with 20k miles, moved from Integra typeR
After driving the car for few days i started noticing hesitance going into gears especially at cold. this morning 36F after car warmed up it took me few tries to get it into 2nd, 3rd gears with clutch fully engaged n yesterday reverse was grinding at standing still with clutch fully engaged as well (only happened once)
also when the car idles the tranny makes humming noise which goes away when i engage the clutch (obviously gears stop spinning), i had the same noise in my Integra when main bearing was going out... but with 20k wth
are those models known for any trans issues? and any suggestions?

good to know that it's normal to be noisy, just wanted to hear that from the major public.
fluid level is good and clutch feel fine too not sticking or anything. i don't want to blame synchros this early
im thinking about trying the dealer since it's still under warranty but im pretty sure they will pull their excuse: "we were not able to replicate ur issue" since it's not consistent
thangs g, anybody else?

tranny was replaced, noise is gone but it's still not smooth... hesitation going to 2nd from 1st, and from 2nd to 3rd it kicks back then shifts 80% of the time wtf nissan
car is not a race car, i drive it daily n this is really annoying
i lifted the car to see if the trans was indeed replaced and it does look clean as new. is this normal?

try adjusting the slave master that runs from the pedal to the firewall. you just need a 12mm wrench and a pair of need nose to turn it. takes a few minutes but will be your best bet.

ill take the car back to the dealer, let them worry about it. i just want to know that this is not normal for 350z trans to act this way so they don't think im making up stories.
learn how to read, the issue raised is about gears not shifting and not on how to drive stick. i can transition gears perfectly fine, the prob is when i move shift lever into the gear i feel resistance, got it?
The Z's trans will never feel like that of a Honda. Either, keep practicing till you get it or find a different car. If you don't figure it out, you be will looking at another trans in the not too distant future.
i concur . . . i drove a honda city in india ( regional domestic ) and the transmission shifts like butter . . my z on the other hand is really notchy when cold . . but once its hot . . it slices . .
I was going to suggest fresh fluid but it is unlikely that with that few miles on the car it is your problem. I agree that if it is under warranty let Nissan make it right. It is a bummer on a new to you car but once it is done you will love the car.
i got a newest one i could find with lowest miles so i don't have to worry about fixing the car but so far i had more headache then with my 13 year old integra
now steering clicks when i turn, then keyless entry doesn't always unlock/lock the car i have to stand next to it for few minutes pressing the buttons, also i keep pressing button on the center arm rest box with my elbow when i drive n hit my funny bone because lid opens half way without me noticing it lol also when i bought it dealer told me car never been hit but now paint started peeling off from the quarter panel n rear end started knocking on bumps
