Default Rear O2 Sensor

Hey guys,

First true post, so I'll try to leave out the noob and get down to it. I purchased Nismo #24 about a week and a half ago. It already had AAM test pipes installed and nothing was done to fix the CEL, so its popping 12 codes for the rear O2. I've been told that anytime you have an O2 sensor code the ECU cuts down the output from the engine so that you dont damage it. If its not true, then im not really worried about it, i can get it reprogrammed when i get it flashed. If it truly does have a output standard that it drops to, then its something i would like to get fix ASAP. So my question is does it truly restrict engine output?

Thanks,
Randy

Welcome. For some reason I have been posting oxygen sensor comments for several days. Is this a bad time for sensors.

When my rear o2 went out I noticed it lagged a bit so to answer from experience, probably yes, but I don't know the dynamics of it
