I like the dual mass OEM flywheel. But it is difficult to take apart, resurface, put together again. Few if any shops are willing to do that.

NOTE: The clutches listed look street friendly. Except

Clutch Masters Stage 3 Clutch Nissan 350Z 3.5L 6cyl 03-06.

This will definitely hold any possible torque, but may be awkward to use on the street.

if by difficult you mean impossible, then you're correct

stock flywheel cannot be resurfaced

To the OP

define your power goals
define your budget
define your uses

the choices tend to fall into place very quickly from there

Im looking too guys if you have any info, Im normal street driving for the most part, plenty of runs up at the Tail of the Dragon too though so something to handle some abuse would be good, looking at ACT stage 1 right now had that in a couple of maximas i owned and really liked it, not sure how they stack up on a Z though

Question on the flywheel.. What is the best weight to get if you don't want the clangging? I'm in the process of getting a new flywheel and clutch but the performance shop told me to stay away from the real lightweight ones because they are noisey.

they all make noise

the weight itself, while it does act as a damper to a certain degree, is not as critical in the overall noise as the fact that none of the aftermarket units are dual mass like the stock one is. So, the safest bet, if you want 0 added noise, is to stay stock. That being said, I wouldn't trade the added engine response for anything, the noise is a byproduct I simply have grown to ignore

So if the OEM is about 23-25lbs what would be a good weight? 19?

stock is about 29 lbs

the weight you choose is really up to you...the lighter it is, the quicker engine response is both during acceleration and deceleration.
