Default Strange Burning Oil Smell during WOT....

Hey Fellas,

Had my car for more than 6 Years, when I do mormal Street Driving my car is absolutley perfect. When I go WOT I notice that my car has a burning oil scent. It goes away when I drive normal again and drive for a bit. My car is a 2004 Performance with 63K Miles. Any ideas? I hope I don't have an Oil Leak, that would suck!

1) No oil spots left on the ground
2) No Oil Spray under the hood
3) No out of the Ordinary Smoke out of the Exhaust That I can tell during WOT. My wife was following me the other day and said I did blow a little bit of grey smoke. But it wasn't visible in the rear view.

Any ideas would help.

Thanks.

I get that too. Maybe by installing oil catch can we might be able to fix that

Me too!!! I have an 03 6MT w/ 42,100 miles. Im glad I'm not the only one thats running into this. IDK if its the cats cause its not really a "rotten egg" kind of smell. Wonder what it could be. Has anyone remedied this?

Do a compression/leakdown test and let us know.

(when a guy named crazy350zkid says he can't smell, I can think of a few reasons why . I just can't figure out why he can still hear!)

Do you think getting a catch can would help relieve some of this puddling problem?

One more reason not to go WOT. Bad things rarely happen to engines that never run over 3000 rpms. Or to the cars they're in.

Anyway on topic. I would do the check the plenum thing. If theres oil in there installing a catch-can will help keep oil out of there.
