Red face car smells like burnt after driving hard

so I was driving home today , and I notice this acura tailgating me . So I punch my car and leave the acura behind. After a couple of minutes later I start smelling this weird forest burning smell coming from my car. Im worried that something might be wrong, I just got my engine replaced 3 weeks ago due to oil consumption and they told me to take it easy on the few first miles. Did I possibly damage something? I shift pretty hard im hoping it isn't anything major. any input is greatly appreciated

You are going need to replace it with another motor.

I have the same problem but my engine is stock and i think it comes from the brembo brakes. Does it have anything to do with lack of brake fluid and smells of burned brakes?

how is your clutch & flywheel??? are you having any problems accelerating? IF so, your clutch is grinding against the flywheel... this can at first cause a smell... You will def know within 3-15 days of driving. You will begin having increasing issues with acceleration.

As silly as this sounds......you might learn (from somebody with experience) to identify what the different smells are that can come from your car.

Brakes, clutch, oil, coolant, and tranny fluid etc. all have different and distinct smells.

Most experienced vehicle enthusiasts can tell you what a certain smell is.

^What he said... my car smells like burning everytime I put my foot down, it's nothing unusual. When you go wide open throttle, your car forgets what emissions are and focuses on making power which has a lot to do with the burning smell.

Isn't not breaking the engine in properly one of the reasons the '06s had oil consumption issues?

At least it doesn't taste like burning.

so much win in this thread.

it could either be the exhaust, which is normal at WOT, or your clutch.

either way, you're an idiot if you're pushing your motor after the dealer says "don't push it"

Probably caused by fitting aftermarket lugs on OEM wheels.
