you better do a full blown step by steph write-up when you do yours!!! i'll be waiting! lol
Oh you don't worry about that I have my build thread all planned out. Just wanting to start one of my main phases before I start it cause don't want you guys waiting for more pics. But I will for sure just don't know where to post it in. Maybe just the media section.
My LS1 swap cost about $10,000-$12,000 with me doing all the fab work and isntallation. But that is also with all new parts such as a built TCI TH400 and a Electromotive full standalone engine managament and ignition system.
That's not a bad price... I'm hoping to come in just a hair under 10k. I will be pushing it though.
To the OP,
Outstanding build and welcome to the LS-Z Alliance. Now if Quamen ever finishes his build. ....

More. Mine cost about 20K for the LS2 after all was said and done.
But when is it ever really done really?

And more power gets you what exactly? Bragging rights on a forum? With the relatively simple internal configuration this particular engine has, I'd be willing to bet that it will last far, far longer than the avg. built TT equipped VQ does. Not to mention, overlay the dyno charts of a modest LS such as this, and a TT VQ that would put down similar #'s. I know which one I'd rather have (and as a general rule, I'm not a fan of engine swaps as I like keeping it the family..but the LS is a pretty incredible piece of equipment)
Agree 100%. You show me a completely "bulletproof motor" and I'll trade you my golden wish granting Unicorn. Neither exist.
It's not always how much power but where your making it and for how long.

Obviously it does:
Yeah I would absolutely agree it does.

I'm almost there! Transmission and engine are in and The Driveshaft Shop is making my aluminum driveshaft as we speak! Standalone is mounted and I am almost done adapting all the stock Z sensors I decided to keep. Next weekend I will be making my headers and exhaust once I finish getting the driveshaft angle perfect.
