Default diff o2 connectors from 04 to 06? WTF

My friend and I just swapped out the motor in his '04 G35 due to him throwing a rod through each side of his block, upper AND lower, so he REALLY made sure that motor will never see functioning again... lol so anyway, he called up Strickers and got a full '06 6spd motor and harness for his car. only problem is his car is an '04 auto. so we swap everything over and realize the 6spd harness doesnt have the connectors for the tranny... so yesterday we spend the day swapping the harness from the old motor to the new motor. then at the very end we realized the old '04 harness has special 6 pin/wire connectors with the little lever disconnect thing but the new harness has a regular 4 pin/wire connector. I'm really not wanting to try and swap o2 sensors because it just looks impossible to reach under there and im wondering if its just a matter of using an '06 AUTO harness or not.
i guess my question is:
-is the 06 auto harness the only option other than getting the o2 sensors out and swapping them or are there any connector adaptors or anything to take the 4 wires from the o2 sensors and plug into the 6 wires from the old harness?

thanks in advance

Are you trying to install the factory widebands?

if thats the sensors on the exhaust manifolds. there is one on each side on the manifolds and one on each cat. im dealing with the ones on the manifolds. is that a wideband? i thought o2 sensors were narrow band? either way... lol havnt started the car yet but i figured we need that situated first anyway, not sure how it runs without those plugged in..

The 02 sensors on 04.5+ are wideband. I don't think the tranny made any difference on the type of sensor. He must have an early 04 car with narrowband upstream sensors.

I guess. but the connectors on the '04 have 6 wires and that little grey lever thing that prettu much un-latches it and it comes apart. the '06 is just a simple squeez and pull with 4 wires. it seems like the wide band sensor would be more likely to have the more robust connector... but either way.. how hard is it to get the sensor out? this would be the free option but it just looked way too hard with everything in the car... anyone ever swapped them out or replaced them before?

+1 03 and true 04 cars had the same sensors. 04.5 and up have the wideband sensors.

The correct sensors are just a snap to connect. If you are talking about the connection to the catalytic converter there is a special O2 removable tool that I recommend.
