Default Tools to measure crank journals and ID of connecting rods

What tools does everyone use to measure the journals and ID of connecting rods? Any micrometers US made? I haven't looked as of yet but was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for one.

I been looking at the laser ones and those cost a pretty penny. Would a machine shop have a laser one to measure journals? GA area? Any laser measuring equipment to measure ID of rods?

Need this moved to the 350z tech section please.

I appreciate it very much. I only want to measure crank journals and ID of rods to pick the right bearings. Going to let the machine shop do the rest.
