jw wondering whats the purpose of a breather tank?

It's also called a catch can. It supposedly keeps oil from getting into the intake where it lowers the octane of the fuel mix.

From what I've read, the most common problem with it concerns the hoses. It's probably not worth the time, effort, or money to install it, but it's an easy, quick, and relatively cheap mod that isn't likely to screw up anything and/or void your warranty.

Ahh I knew what a catch can was but I didn't know it went by another name. Thanx for the insight

Oil Catch can and Breather Tanks are different things here guys:

Breather Tank:

Oil Catch Can:

Breather Tank is for Coolant and your rad/cooling system. Catch can is for oil and blow-by. They are not the same things, and are two different names.
