I would recommend the k&n filter hp 1010, it's a bit larger than the stock filter (still fits fine) so it may filter a bit better, and it has a bolt on the end that makes it so much easier to take off than normal oil filters.

You can get them online for about 8-9 bucks shipped.

As for oil, that thread is really long and in depth, but in short, just get castrol gtx. It works just as well as the best synthetics for normal oil change intervals... and it's cheaper. Change the oil every 3500 miles, and change the filter every other oil change.

 

+ 1000. I've used Mobil 1 on at least 11 of the last vehicles I have owned. Honestly, I don't even know why I went with Mobil 1. Maybe the marketing got me at a very young age.
