According to the Greddy reps at SEMA they built the kit with CARB exemption in mind. However they do not expect CARB EO# for a number of months since the process seems to move pretty slowly. But they have already started the process and pending approval the kit will be CARB exempt.

As of right now, there is no SC or TT kit that is carb legal. A number of them promise to get Carb legal within 1 year but I dont think that promise is binding thus if it does not become CARB legal, it is your problem. That is the price you pay for being first.

If you take off your CAT's it definatly wont be CARB Legal.

But if you put on our Random Technology - High Flow Cats it will be.

According to Random Technologies- It is illegal to install aftermarket cats on OBDII vehicles in CA. See the fourth paragraph on Random's website http://www.randomtechnology.com/

However Random does provide a CARB EO# for the cats

They pass the sniff test and they do pass emissions. As of now not the visual. There was talk at one point about getting them CARB aproved. It can be done.

this actually is true according to officer friendly you are not supposed to touch them unless they are damaged same goes for exhaust i think (from a technicallity stand point) so that is you answer to the carb testers... "I hit a rock and these were cheaper"

Aftermarket exhaust is fine as long as it does not violate the dB rating. CARB EO numbers are not issued for aftermarket exhausts because on newer cars they have nothing to do with emissions since they do not have EGR valve. I was recently written up for my exhaust as a gross polluter. Went to visit the smog referee and passed with no problems. Cats are a different story though.

I think the legal dB raiting is 96dB in Cali. The nismo was at 104dB on the dyno with only Nismo Exhaust!
