Default oil pressure gauge messed up?

i changed my oil maybe at the most about 1000 miles ago, and my oil pressure hits 0 and the light comes on when im decelerating and coming to a full stop. i used castrol gtx 5w-40 since texas heat is pretty strong. i checked my dipstick and oil still has that gold hue to it, its not black. and its not low. my car is an 05 6mt with 60k miles on it...should i just add another quart and be done wtih it? or is this something i should worry about?

If it's not low (per the dipstick) then DON'T add another quart. It's most likely that you have a problem with the oil pressure sending unit.

Motor oil did not damage the pressure gage.
