I picked up a hr y-pipe (very good condition) from one of the members in this forum. The installation was pretty simple except that unscrewing the bolts and getting the old pipe out needed little bit of effort. It's really helpful if you use a hydraulic lift to keep the Hr y-pipe in the air to connect it with other pipes. The installation took me about 1 hr 30mins. Other than i had to remove the underbody panel (?), i luv this upgrade. The sound is a LITTLE bit deeper and louder but not that noticeable. But for sure, the car runs smoother !!

Only problem i'm facing is that i hear hissing sound after installation although i tighten the nuts tight. Tomorrow i'll go tighten it more with a longer bar but i hope this is normal

I like my HR y-pipe, but it was free so it was definitely worth it to me. I can't comment on the sound difference though because I put res. TPs on at the same time....

They should sound the same but on youtube, berks' were very raspy, sounds like an expensive fart can..sry. maybe they had different mods on the car that they didn't mention in the description
use the one piece gaskits like the ones berk sells on here thos 3 ply gaskits reverberate, thats what your hearing, i had same problem till i switched it out

I used the gaskets that were on my car with stock system which are the ones that have 4 gaskets stuck together. When i bought the HR pipe, he gave me the one piece gasket that were on his 08 350z. Should i use that? Wouldn't there be more hissing sound because 1 piece gasket is thinner?
^^^ the stock gasket is fine. i just reused the ones b/t the ypipe and the test pipes but my car only has about 25k miles.
i was originally going to go w/ an HR ypipe until someone mentioned the inner diameter.
i'm planning on going aftermarket so will def want a 2.5 to 3'' outlet size ypipe.
