Default **Need Help ASAP** CD001 to CD009 Transmission Swap

Hey guys. I have been searching all night and this morning, but I am not getting the answers I need.

A couple days ago we swapped out my CD001 trans for a CD009. We used the fork and the pivot ball that came with the CD009. We got everything put in the car, and when we fired it up, everything seemed fine. We went through the gears just fine and all seemed well. Just did a little lot driving nothing major.

The car set over night and we went to put it back on the trailor the clutch would not engage. We are stuck in nuetral and can't get a gear. The clutch pedal has feel, and everything is working fine, it just does not have enough movement to engage.

We bled the clutch line twice to check for air and we adjusted the pedal, but no go.

I don't care to pull the trans again, but what do I need to swap to make this work! Any help as always is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much!

Jeff

Bad slave cylinder? They usually go out.
Also check the master cylinder.

Sounds like the clutch is not disengaging.

Or the fork/throwout bearing not moving like it pose too.

We used the smaller pivot ball and fork that came with the cd009. Do we need to use the longer one on the old transmission?

We are going to check the slave tomorrow, and that would be an easy fix, but I just don't think that's it.

And yes, the clutch will not engage or disengage.

Default just did this

I just did this swap on my 03 and had a similar problem. I used the fork and pivot on the CD009. when I got it back together I couldn't shift into gear with it running at all. I had to bleed it, I rechecked the shifter alignment(which was off slightly), and used a prybar to manually disengage the clutch to make sure the fork was able to do it.

after all that I still couldn't get it to shift while running. So I put the car in gear and started it to see if it would roll or lurch(a sign the clutch wasn't disengaging). it didn't. and I was able to back out of my garage. after that I could change gears, but I had to slam it into each gear for like 5 mins of driving, than it starting loosing up and now it's fine. even better than the cd001.

so try that out and see what happens for you. just put it in gear and start it up. if it rolls than you probably need to adjust the pedal. if it lurches than the clutch is not releasing at all.

hope this helps

we just put in a brand new clutch, pressure plate and release bearing. I doubt it is one of those components.

As previously mentioned its most likely the slave cylinder. Bad throwout bearing usually makes excessive noise.
