Default JWT Clutch Compared to Stock

Hey Guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a few items very soon..

-JWT Heavy Duty Clutch (includes pressure plate, clutch disc, throwout bearing, and pilot bushing.)
-Upgraded Pivot Ball
-Nismo Roller Bearing
-Stainless Steel Clutch Line
-Motul RBF 600 Clutch Fluid

I'm just wondering, am I going to feel that much of a difference than stock from this setup as far as the engagement point and everything. And if there is anything you guys can add that would be helpful info would be great.

Thanks!
Dan

Well worth it, but didn't notice the flywheel listed. Flywheel is probably the best part of the difference.

Yea, I'm not planning on replacing the flywheel, although I know I should.

well worth the upgrade. if you have an 06, the pedal stiffness is about the same but the clutch itself will engauge much lower off the floor. grips hard though. after installing the clutch/flywheel, i can chirp both 3rd and 4th gear which switching gears fast.

i have an 04 and i think the clutch is less stiff than stock which i prefer. if you're gonna go through the trouble of replacing the clutch, might as well do the flywheel too.

Good advice above on the flywheel. If your gonna pull the trans then there's no better time.

I'll have to see what I can do to get a new flywheel. Doesn't make sense to get a clutch without a flywheel.

Those of you that have replaced there clutch and flywheel did you immediatly notice the bite strength and power again or did it slowly come to as the clutch was broken in i recently replaced mine and was making sure there wasnt something wrong as it feels a little sluggish in power but the clutch bite is strong and tight.
When going through the gear at like 3k rpm usually can get pretty strong pull when you punch it but its more like a slow pull right now is this normal for a just replaced clutch and flywheel or is something else going on

first 1000 miles, was just stop and go traffic..no hard driving yet until it was broken in.

if you have the lightweight flywheel, you will lose a bit of low end torque..like the throttle response isn't the same until you hit around 3-3.5 rpm.

Are you replacing because you need a new clutch or just because?

The clutch is worn and is definitely is on its way out, I think the previous owner didn't treat it very well in the short time they had it. So I decided that it would be best for me to replace it with something aftermarket.

Really not too fond of the chatter that goes on with all the lightened flywheels too.

yes i replaced with a light wieght flywheel and heavy duty clutch only drivin 300 miles on new clutch and havent felt that strong jerk that throws your head into the seat when punshing in the gas at like 2500 -3000 rpm just want to know if this is normall and shouldnt jump to conclusions until atleast 5- 600 miles broken in and dont wanna take back to shop and complain if this is what is typical.

lol, i have an 04 and noticed the pedal isn't as stiff as stock. it engages lower and feels better though. mine chatters, i'm used to it. it's not any worse than my oem was.

i didn't really notice any change after it's broken in. I don't understand what you guys are trying to say, you shouldn't be mashing the gas and banging off shifts on break in, and even then, its not like you hit 600 miles and the clutch magically changes. try shifting/driving at higher rpms if you feel like it's bogging down.

Default ouchy!

hey i was just reading your post

https://my350z.com/forum/engine-driv...voir-swap.html

My leg has been seriously damaged from this clutch kit and I am wondering what to do. I had it done at the nissan dealer since my used 03 had a bad tranny when i bought it from them. The clutch it stiff as **** and my gearhead friends agree with me (not always ie: your just being a *****[usually mustang ***s]). Anyway, if their not following the steps that you list.... Any suggestions? Finding your post was a great find for me because I am about to build a case against that shop. If your steps were not followed exactly, would the clutch be stiff as hell?

I have the jwt clutch and flywheel and I love it... the chatter is super loud when the car first starts, warms up can barely hear it.. The stock clutch was almost as loud

Default jwt

I love the chattering sound and do not understand why people complain about a cool loud engine/flywheel. My post kinda sucked so sorry for that. My problem is with the clutch, it is so stiff and my leg is bothering me right now and I havent driven it for the whole winter. I was hoping that the physical therapy would help me but it like it jusdt never has time to heal becuase I am always driving to skoo or work or somewhere. Idk what the hell is with the clutch, i am taking her straight to the dealer to have the old pressure plate put back in as soon as the weather gets better. and,

WHere did you have yours done? Did you do it yourself? Maybe your mech can call mine and tell him he is missing a step, a la

did you have your resivoir swapped out or whatever? How long have you had your lutch too ect. I dont even have 10k on my car with the jwt combo. Did you get the ss clutch line as well too? I did

Your clutch makes noise?lol
