Question MAF/TB cleaning - Learning procedures ???

Anyone know whether you have to do any learning procedures after cleaning the MAF? I know some need to be done after a throttle body cleaning but I'm not sure about this. Also, does the learning procedures you're supposed to do after cleaning the TB also reset the timing? If so is it resetting the valve timing or the ignition timing? (I'm not sure if the valve timing is even computer controlled anyways) I want to do both the MAF and TB this weekend but I don't want to reset the ignition timing right now. I had it advanced the 2 degrees allowable because I was getting some spark knock so if I reset it then I'll probably have to pay someone 100 bucks just to go into the ECU and advance it all over again.

There's nothing to relearn after cleaning the MAF.

If you touch the plate in the throttle body, then yes you'll need to do the relearn procedure.

There's no relation between the relearn procedures and ignition timing.

Thanks for the link. However I see that in the idle air volume learning procedure it says one of the conditions for doing it is if the idle speed or ignition timing is out of spec. I guess the question is whether the procedure resets the ignition timing to top dead center? I want to keep it advanced 2 degrees. The ecu lets you adjust it either +/- 2 degrees. If it resets to top dead center then the dealership wants $110- to hook it up and advance it back.
A word of note, people that have been having issues with excessive spark knock, I ended up finding a reference in the car's manual that addresses this and says that it is normal for a small amount of spark knock to occur when the engine is under load because that's the way the engine is tuned to get the best gas mileage, but if there is excessive spark knock you can also switch to 2 step colder spark plugs. It took me forever to finally figure this all out for the dealership was no help at all, and just kept saying that it was a normal amount. There's no way a car like a 350z should be rattling around like that! But there it was in the manual and the dealership knew nothing about it. They didn't believe me until I took it out and showed them. Finally they changed them for me cause the car was still under warranty at the time. They sure gave me a headache though!

I can't imagine how or why these procedures would affect timing.

DESCRIPTION
Idle Air Volume Learning is an operation to learn the idle air volume that keeps each engine within the specific range.
It's only learning how much throttle is required to keep the engine idling properly. Doesn't say anything about adjusting timing for that purpose.

I agree it doesn't make sense, but here's the first lines of the procedure:

Idle Air Volume Learning
DESCRIPTION
Idle Air Volume Learning is an operation to learn the idle air volume that keeps each engine within the specific range. It must be performed under any of the following conditions:
Each time electric throttle control actuator or ECM is replaced.
Idle speed or ignition timing is out of specification.

Perhaps it was worded poorly or I'm not understanding what I'm reading.
