Gotcha, guess I'm "old school." As well makes sense about only replacing 1.

What about a diff brace instead of replacing the bushings? I believe Injected makes or sells one that you don't even have to remove the pumkin to install and it's under $200.

There was a post a while back where someone cracked the sub-frame while replacing the mount, and he had to have some aluminum welding done to repair it. I've read elsewhere that getting the mount out is a real chore, even if you've got the right tools, which the OP probably doesn't.

Shoe Goo and other similar products are pretty tough, capable of standing up to repeated impact loads, shear loads, and abrasion. Such a repair would beat the snot out of what he's got now for minimal cost plus a little time and effort.

It's an entirely different situation from leaving the front strut brace out.

I discuss those options here in the suspension101 thread - and they are preventative measures, if that:
https://my350z.com/forum/8293651-post24.html

but to answer, its too late for him, its blown, he needs to get it fixed, adding a brace now does nothing and doesnt fix his blown bushing issue..

This thread:
https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance...-subframe.html

he never explains how exactly he cracked it, but if done right, the odds of cracking it are slim....

I've installed 5 solid diff bushings now with my DIY- how to process in post 12 of my thread....

With DIY there are always risk, but if you take your time and do it right, etc then your golden......

Thank you guys for the input! Jason, I hear what your saying about the "not knowing how to drive" issue. I purchased the car used, but completely stock. The previous owner put 26,000 miles on it in the 7 months of ownership that he had it. I can't imagine he cared to drive the car correctly if he traded it 7 months later, for ANOTHER Z. lol. I will look into the SPL bushings, Z1 if you guys carry them can you PM me a price for the set? Or if not, does anyone know where they can be purchased for the best price? Thanks again guys.

^ on the thread i linked in post 24 i show that spl and 350zmotorsports sell them....

also see post 9 where acidjake linked the ebay seller.........which just might be 350zmotorsports......who knows....

The ebay ones I have confirmed the dimensions are on point......

to my knowledge currently, spl diff bushings are on back order unless you find a vendor that physically has one in stock and does drop ship...

I would deal with 350zmotorsports because they are local, but I have heard nothing but bad experiences about their customer service so I'm going to avoid them if possible. Has anyone ever used the ebay ones? Do they hold up or are they just as good as the SPL's?

Jason, you are BEYOND a huge help! Thank you so much man!!! And as for 350z motorsports, A guy waited 4 months for his radiator and was billed for it but they never shipped it to him. I have also heard a few other things, I don't want to put anyone on blast or anything since I never experienced it first hand, but the phone is never answered or anything either. So I'd rather not get involved with em. Thank you so much, I might place an order this afternoon for a set. Thank you!

SPL diff bushings are available from us and a few others

The ebay ones and the SPL ones are not the same though - there are differences between them. Subtle as they may be, they are there.

I pm'd you redlineaz

As for switching all the diff mounts to solid allowing for no more wheel hop, is it more likely to blow up the gears? Where does the vibration and pressure absorb if the bushings aren't allowing any flex or play?

Good thread. Liked the DIY thread also. I'm still not sure what route I am going to take with my car yet.

I really want to make an entire tubular subframe to really stiffen up the back of my car...

the rear hops because the bushings are moving...when the bushings stop moving, the rear stays planted and all that wasted energy is transferred to your tires

.........I once thought of it before but its too much work.........

At the very least if you really wanted to do something, I can see removing the sub frame completely, fabricating a table top jig and welding in tubular reinforcements.......mainly for the toe and camber drop down style lugs that are on the subframe.

Alright, so as far as you guys know there are no negative repercussions people have had like things breaking as a result of switching to solid bushings?

Just install the Whiteline subframe bushings or custom fab aluminum ones. The subframe it self is stiff, the mounts to the car are silly puddy.

We installed the SPL solid bushing kit on BriGuyMax's car. He is NOT happy with the increased diff noise caused by the lack of isolation now. He has stated he would not do it again if he had it to do over.

Install was not fun either.

dont use short sidewall drag radials or street tires and you wont wheel hop either.

in the end you have no other choice but to go solid. YOu cannot buy the bushing by itself.
